About light therapy
What is red light therapy?
It is the application of specific wavelengths of light to the skin. Cells absorb that energy through light-sensitive receptors called chromophores, and the mitochondria respond by increasing production of ATP, the fuel cells run on. With more energy available, cells speed up their natural renewal and repair processes. It is not an aggressive treatment. It is giving skin better conditions to do what it already knows how to do.
Which of the four is right for me?
The SkinReboot mask if your face is the priority. The Dermalift neck mask if neck and décolleté are your main concern, or you already use the face mask and want to extend the treatment. The ReviveLight panel if you want to treat your body or support muscle recovery. The SkinRenew wand as a companion for targeted areas, not as the foundation of a routine.
How long until I see results?
Brightness and tone usually come first, around week two to four. Texture, week four to eight. Firmness and fine lines depend on collagen, which builds slowly — eight to twelve weeks of consistent use. Results vary with age, skin and consistency. Anyone promising you an exact number is selling you something.
Does blue light actually help acne?
Blue light targets the bacteria associated with breakouts and can help reduce active acne. It is not a medical acne treatment and does not replace one — it is steady, non-aggressive support.
Does it work on all skin tones?
Yes. Unlike laser treatments, which can be problematic on deeper skin tones, LED light therapy does not rely on pigment to work and does not carry the same hyperpigmentation risk.
Use and safety
How often should I use it?
Masks: 10 to 15 minutes, three to five times a week. Panel: 10 to 15 minutes, three to four times a week to start. Consistency beats intensity — short regular sessions outperform long occasional ones.
Do I need eye protection?
Not with the masks — the silicone surround around the eyes acts as a barrier, so you can keep your eyes open through the session. With the panel, avoid looking directly into the LEDs. If the brightness is uncomfortable, increase your distance or shorten the session.
Is it safe?
LED light therapy emits no ultraviolet radiation and generates no meaningful heat. Our masks are manufactured to the IEC 60601 electrical safety standard for medical equipment. That said, there are situations where you should speak to a doctor first: if you are pregnant, if you have epilepsy or photosensitivity, if you take medication that increases light sensitivity, or if you have a diagnosed skin condition.
Can I use it while pregnant?
We have not conducted studies in pregnancy and we are not going to claim it is safe without data. Talk to your doctor before using any of our devices.
What if I have epilepsy?
Flashing light can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. If you have epilepsy of any kind, check with your neurologist before using these devices.
Clean skin or with products on?
Always clean, dry skin. Serums, moisturisers and makeup form a layer between the light and your skin. Apply your routine after the session.
Can I use it the same day as retinol or acids?
Yes, but separate them: do the light session on clean skin and apply actives afterwards. If your skin is irritated from a strong active, give it a rest before adding anything else.
Can I use it if I have had Botox or filler?
Yes. LED light therapy does not interfere with Botox or dermal fillers. The one sensible caveat is to wait until any swelling or tenderness at the injection site has settled before resuming sessions.
How do I care for the device?
Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth after each use — never submerge it. Store it somewhere dry, out of direct sunlight.
Are these devices a medical treatment?
No. They are at-home skincare devices. They do not diagnose, treat or cure any disease, and they do not replace care from a dermatologist or doctor.
